A Bikini wax is shaping anywhere a bathing suit does not hide and any variation pending on the clients design preference. This does not include anything underneath except for the inner thigh. Tips: Take Ibuprofen (consult doctor before taking) an hour before your appointment. At the spa, you’ll be shown to the waxing room and asked to disrobe from the waist down (including underpants) and will lay on a towel and then will be covered across your lap with a small towel. For a more modest bikini wax (not Brazilian), you can request a pair of spa panties or opt to wear your own. Keep in mind if wearing your own, wax or oil may get on them so we suggest wearing the spa’s disposables if any at all.

Your waxing specialist will ask you to lie down on your back. This is a good time to ask any questions, so that you’re both clear on what you want to have removed i.e. Leave a strip, certain design prefrence, any extra waxing around the area you may like; above bikini area to navel or the gluetel region and lower back.  Be clear on what you want. If you are unsure, have the waxing specialist start with smaller stripes and slowly work in.. This will give you a chance to survey the degree of discomfort and you can make the call to continue for a full Brazilian or not, and still look aesthetically pleasing.

To start, most waxers will ask you to assist by holding your skin taut in certain areas or moving your legs a certain way, don’t be afraid to help out when asked. This will help lesson your discomfort. After the waxing is done, your waxer will probably tweeze any stray hairs if needed and will then clean off the waxed area with Nufree antimicrobial oil to remove excess wax and finishing with Finipil which is antibacterial and antimicrobial and has been proven to slow hair growth.

The pain is most intense the first time you receive a bikini/Brazilian, but it’s also fairly brief. You should try and relax as much as possible during service. Remember to take deep breathes the more tense you get, the more painful it is. It usually hurts more to have the hair on your pubis removed than the hair near your vagina, so be prepared for that to avoid the pubis area ask to have a strip left if you’re doing a Brazilian. Communicate with your waxer. If you need a break or would like her to switch to the opposite side let her now. This will lessen the anxiety you may have. Your hairlessness should last for up to six weeks, at which point you can go back in for another round of waxing. Keep in mind that if you come in every 4-6 weeks after waxing your hair will come in less dense and will be a lot more easily removed each time you come in for an appointment.
